Your privacy, in plain words
This is for you if you’re under 18. It says what Calcali knows about you, why, and what you can do about it.
What we know about you
- Your username and the year you were born. We need your age to keep you safe.
- Your email, if you gave one, and your parent or carer’s email if you’re under 13. We only use them to send codes and important messages.
- What you post: questions, answers, replies, whiteboards and pictures.
- Your practice: which questions you tried and how you did, so we can pick the next question for you.
- When you log in and on what kind of device, so we can spot someone else using your account.
What other people see
- Only your username and the picture you chose from ours. Never your real name or a photo of you.
- Your school, if you add it, is only shown to you.
- Your practice results are private. A class host or parent only sees them if you say yes.
- There are no private messages. Everything is in the open.
What we never do
- We never sell what we know about you.
- No adverts, and nothing about you is used for adverts.
- No tricks to keep you scrolling.
Who helps us
A few companies help us run Calcali. They can only use your data to help us: one keeps the website running, one sends our emails, one keeps the site safe from attacks, one checks posts and pictures for anything harmful, and one tells us when something breaks (without your name or what you typed).
What you can do
- See everything we have about you: Settings › Download my data.
- Change your username, picture and settings in Settings.
- Delete your account: Settings › Delete my account. If you’re under 13, everything you made goes too.
- Ask us anything: safety@calcali.app. A grown-up can help you.
If you’re under 13
A parent or carer has to say yes before you can post. They can also see your data, stop you posting or delete your account. If your account isn’t used for a year, we delete it (we tell them first).
If something feels wrong
Tap ⋯ › Report, tell a grown-up you trust, or email safety@calcali.app. See our community rules too.
The grown-up version is our privacy notice.
