Why are leaves green?
Leaves are packed with tiny green discs called chloroplasts. They hold chlorophyll, which soaks up red and blue light to make food for the plant and bounces the green light back to your eyes. Tap the chloroplast on this plant cell to look inside it. What else does a plant cell have that your cells don’t?

A cell wall (made of cellulose, it keeps the cell’s shape), chloroplasts, and a large vacuole full of cell sap. Your cells have a nucleus, cytoplasm, a cell membrane and mitochondria too, but none of those three.
