Money

In the UK, 100 pence (p) make £1. In the US, 100 cents make $1, and in South Africa 100 cents make R1. We add up money, find change and work out costs.

Key facts

  • £1 = 100p; $1 = 100 cents; R1 = 100 cents.
  • Write pounds with two decimal places: £3.50, not £3.5.
  • Find change by counting up from the price to what was paid.
