Density and compound measures · Year 8

In Year 8 you learn: speed.

A compound measure combines two quantities: density is mass per unit volume, pressure is force per unit area, and speed is distance per unit time. The same three rearrangements work for all of them.

Key facts

  • 1 g/cm³ = 1,000 kg/m³, and 1 m² = 10,000 cm².
  • km/h → m/s: ÷ 3.6. m/s → km/h: × 3.6.
